I have been in this hobby for a while now, 14 years, and if I would have gave up at the first sign of adversity I would not be where I am today. I know, it sounds cliche but it is true. It is sad to see so many new and old reefers leaving this hobby everyday. Problems develop in their tanks and they frustrated and depressed, leading to them exiting this wonderful hobby.

I wanted to post a picture of one of my first SPS tanks, back around 2001-02.I had kept soft corals and anemones in the past but this was my first venture into SPS on a large scale. It was a 120gl, and boy did it give me heartaches! I almost quit the hobby at least 10 times during this trying period, but with the support of people on the boards like this I was able to pull through and go on to create a couple great looking tanks.

So for those of you fighting issues with you tank and even those of you unhappy with coral coloration of growth I say stick with it! It will take some time, but you reap what you sow. The hard work and diligence will pay off.

If you thought or think you have issues, look at what I had to fight through. After clearing the tank of the mess you see below I fought 6 months to destroy the dreaded Dinoflagellates! But I fought and won, and so can you!

NEVER GIVE UP!

I posted a thread over on Reefcentral.com. I feel that it could help out some of those reefers who may be thinking about calling it quits due to system issues.

Tatu,

Your recovery was amazing! Especially for only 6 weeks! The new setup looks great as well.
